Thieves make off with railway ties in Guelph's east end

Police say someone took three stacks of railway ties worth more than $2,000 on Sunday afternoon.

Police say railway ties were stolen from beside tracks in Guelph's east end Sunday afternoon.

Police were called at 3:22 p.m. when a witness reported someone was taking railway ties near the tracks at Watson Road and York Road.

Three stacks of ties valued at more than $2,000 were taken.

The vehicle involved is described as a multi-coloured van.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
