Waterloo man remains in critical condition from suspicious fire, explosion

A 37 year old man suffered significant burns to a large portion of his body. He remains in a Hamilton hospital in critical condition.

Police were called to 97 Christopher Drive around 4:30 Saturday afternoon. Staff Sergeant Michael Haffner told CBC News they have secured as much evidence from the scene as they can. Investigators found about two dozen plastic caps from butane canisters and filter papers, which had been scattered by the explosion.

The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office, Waterloo Regional Drug Branch and the Waterloo Fire Department have all completed their work at the scene.
