SIU investigating after naked Guelph man hurt in police encounter

The province's Special Investigations Unit is making a public appeal for witnesses in a bizarre case in Guelph, where a 30-year-old naked man was apparently hurt during an encounter with city police.

The province's Special Investigations Unit is making a public appeal for witnesses in a bizarre case in Guelph where a 30-year-old naked man was apparently hurt during an encounter with city police.

The SIU says Guelph Police were called to a home on McDonnel Street on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. because of reports of a naked man. 

Once police found him, the SIU says in a news release issued Friday, "there was an interaction between the man and the officers." 

The man sustained a facial injury, according to the police watchdog and taken to the city's hospital for treatment.
