8 people taken to hospital after single-vehicle crash near Mount Forest

Eight people were taken to hospital Thursday morning after a small bus went into a ditch on Wellington County Road 16, east of Mount Forest. OPP says the bus was carrying 18 people.

Eight people were taken to hospital on Thursday following a single-vehicle crash involving a small bus on Wellington County Road 16 east of Mount Forest.

The vehicle was carrying 18 people.

Members of Wellington County OPP were called to the area at around 6:30 a.m.

On arrival, officers found the bus on its side in a ditch. Eight people were taken to hospital in Mount Forest and Palmerston with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ornge air ambulance later transported three of the eight people to a Hamilton hospital for additional care, OPP said in a news release.  

Members of Wellington North Fire Services and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services assisted the OPP at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
