Police arrest Toronto man in Waterloo Galaxy Cinemas ATM theft

A 42-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged by Waterloo Regional Police in connection with a January ATM theft at a Waterloo movie theatre.

A 42-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged by Waterloo Regional Police in connection with a January ATM theft at a Waterloo movie theatre.

Investigators believe three people went to the Galaxy Cinemas at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo on January 23 with a white Ford van, which they used smash through the front doors in order to steal an ATM machine in the lobby. 

Police said the trio of thieves caused damage to the movie theatre worth an estimated $30,000 to $35,000. 

Investigators say the man who was arrested in connection with the theft faces charges of break and enter, auto theft, and possession of stolen property over $5000.
