What's open and closed in Waterloo region on Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is on Monday, which means government offices and banks will be closed and other services may have reduced hours.

What's open/not impacted

Waste, recycling, green bin and yard waste will see pick up as usual, but waste sites in Waterloo and Cambridge are closed.

Grand River Transit will be operating on a regular schedule. Note: The ION LRT will not run between Grand River Hospital and Mill stations between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to accommodate Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Kitchener Cenotaph. Shuttle buses will run between those stations, customers should board at 301R ION replacement shuttle stops marked with a red stop marker. Routes 1, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 204 will also be on detour from the start of the service until 2 p.m.

LCBO stores will operate on reduced hours. All LCBO stores in Waterloo region will open at noon until their normal closing hours.
