New early-morning Guelph Transit shuttle to connect to early GO train

Guelph Transit is offering a new early-morning shuttle service to connect city residents with GO Transit's new early morning train service, starting on September 6.

Early birds get the worm – or in Guelph's case, early birds can soon get a shuttle ride to a GO train.

Guelph Transit is offering a new early-morning shuttle service, starting on Tuesday, September 6, to connect city residents with GO Transit's new early morning train service.

According to a release, the new shuttle service will start at 4:30 a.m., and arrive at Guelph Central Station for riders to get the new 5:48 a.m. GO train.

The shuttle service must be pre-booked, and it will pick up passengers from existing Guelph Transit bus stops.

Guelph Transit opted for a shuttle, rather than starting the entire service early, in order to save costs, according to Fred Gerroir, the manager of transit operations.

GO added two additional morning trains which stop in Guelph, the previously mentioned 5:48 a.m., and another at 6:28 a.m.
