Filming for NBC's Heroes Reborn got explosive Thursday and Friday when the television series used pyrotechnics on the Kitchener City Hall set.

Crowds gathered to watch actors Danika Yarosh and Robbie Kay on-set Friday as they filmed scenes amid explosions, dry ice and wind machines.

According to a release from the city, up to 100 production staff will be on site until Sunday, Oct. 4, with final clean-up taking place Monday, Oct. 5.  The city is warning visitors to City Hall they may have to wait a few minutes to enter or leave the building, depending on the filming schedule.

Heroes Reborn is a mini-series that continues the story of the original TV series, Heroes, which starred Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman and Milo Ventimiglia and ended in February 2010.
