A Guelph man who ran through traffic while naked and hid in the yard of a nearby home was given a ticket for his antics, Ontario Provincial Police say.

Wellington County OPP officers were called to Highway 7 at Skyway Drive, just east of Guelph on Saturday night.

It was around 11 p.m., and someone had called officers to say a naked man was running into traffic and "engaging in lewd behaviours."

He apparently ran away when officers arrived, but he was discovered in the yard of a home nearby, police said.

A 31-year-old was arrested and held until he was sober.

Police said he was given a ticket for being intoxicated in a public place.
