Man falls to death at Waterloo's Barrel Yards construction site

Police say an 18-year-old man has died after falling from a residential building at the Barrel Yards development on Erb Street West at Father David Bauer Dr. in uptown Waterloo.
The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. Monday at The Cooperage, a 22-storey apartment tower. Police say they are still working to notify next of kin. They have also not confirmed if the deceased man was a construction worker.
A police forensics team and representatives from the Ministry of Labour are currently conducting investigations on scene.
Aside from tenants who live in some of the completed units at the building, a residential property called The Cooperage, the site was closed off to the media and the public.
When complete, the massive 500,000 square-foot development will include rental apartments, condominiums, office towers, and a luxury hotel.
