Kitchener man hit by car remains in hospital with life-threatening head injury

A man who climbed a barrier between Highway 8 and Kingsway Drive in Kitchener Sunday night remains in hospital with a life-threatening head injury, police say.

A Kitchener man remains in critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a car Sunday night.

Police said the man climbed a barrier that separates Highway 8 and Kingsway Drive near Ninth Avenue in Kitchener just after 8 p.m. on Christmas.

As he scaled the barrier, the man "suddenly entered" Kingsway Drive and was hit by a westbound car, driven by a Woolwich Township man, said police. 

The 32-year-old pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with a life-threatening head injury. Police confirmed Wednesday the man remains in hospital and there has been no change to his condition.
