'Suspicious' death of Kitchener man, 45, due to gunshot

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old Kitchener man, who was found dead at his home on Elm Ridge Drive Sunday morning.

Police say it was a targeted incident

Waterloo Region Police (WRPS) have determined that the "suspicious" death of Kitchener man over the weekend was due to a gunshot wound. 

Police have identified the man as 45-year old Shaun Yorke. He was found dead at his home on Elm Ridge Drive Sunday morning. 

Police said the incident was targeted. This is Waterloo region's third homicide this year. 

WRPS's major crime unit, general detectives and forensic identification officers continue to investigate, officials stated. 

 As a result, "there will be an increased police presence in the area for the next several days," they said.
