Police arrest 33-year-old man after early-morning homicide

Police have arrested a 33-year-old man after an early morning homicide in Wilmot township.

Police have arrested a 33-year-old man after an early morning homicide in Wilmot township.

Waterloo Regional Police Service said they received reports of a body in a rural area and went to Erbs Road and Notre Dame Drive overnight Wednesday.

There, police found the body of a 35-year-old man.

Police said a man was seen running from the area. They later said they believed he was near Ira Needles Boulevard in Waterloo and cautioned people not to pick up anyone looking for a ride. They also deployed a drone to look for the man. 

Now, a 33-year-old man has been arrested.
