Gun, drugs seized in Guelph fentanyl trafficking investigation
Three women arrested during home search
Guelph police said they seized a gun and drugs and arrested three women at a home in the north end of Guelph Thursday during a fentanyl trafficking investigation.
They arrested and charged a 53-year-old woman and carried out a search warrant at her home, police said.
Police said they found:
- 2.38 grams of fentanyl powder
- 15 prescription opioid pills
- 0.78 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 22 calibre rifle with ammunition
- Air soft pistol
- Stolen bicycle valued at $2,500
The woman is facing a series of charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance as well as firearms charges.
A 26-year-old woman from Sarnia was also found in the home and arrested. She had a warrant for her arrest from the Ontario Provincial Police in Middlesex County.
Police say during the search, a 31-year-old Guelph woman ran out the back of the home. She was detained and was also found to have a warrant for her arrest for several charges including theft under $5000 and breach of probation.
