List of indecent acts reported to Guelph police

So far this summer, there's been several indecent acts reported to police in Guelph. Here's a list of what has been reported.

Police in Guelph have seen a number of cases of indecent acts reported over the summer. Arrests have been made in some, but not all cases. 

This is a list for all the indecent acts as of Thursday, Aug. 9, reported by police in media updates. 

Aug. 7, 9:22 p.m. — Splash pad on Carden Street and the area of Carden Street and Wyndham Street — Report of a man exposing himself. The male is described as white, approximately 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing brown shoes, blue jeans, a black v-neck or open collar shirt and a blue baseball cap. When the hat was removed the male appeared to have closely shaved light blond hair and a light amount of facial hair. He had a tattoo on his right inner arm and left outer forearm. A 35-year-old Guelph man was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

Aug. 2, 8:50 p.m. — Norm Jary Park, 22 Shelldale Cres. — Report of a man masturbating on the path near the tree line. Police searched the area and initiated a K9 track by the tree line and bushes, but the male was not located. The male is described to be in his mid to late 50's, balding with a medium build. He was wearing a white shirt and shorts with thin grey horizontal stripes.

Aug. 1, 10 a.m. — York Road — Report of a man masturbating by the bridge. Police searched but the man was not located. Man described as white, approximately 25 years old with a thin build and blond hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and black jeans.

July 30, 2:20 p.m. — Royal City Park — Report of an indecent act. It's alleged that a male approached a female in the park, began speaking in a sexual manner and touching himself. Police searched the area but the male was not located. The male is described as white with tanned skin, in his late 30s, approximately 5'10" tall with a thin build, brown/blond hair and crooked teeth. He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt and black basketball shorts.

July 29, 2:50 p.m. — Guelph General Hospital — Report of a man causing a disturbance. Man was asked to leave the hospital several times but refused to do so. The man was escorted off the hospital's property by a police officer. Across the street from the hospital on a sidewalk, police say the man exposed himself and yelled profanities at the officer as well as patients and people at the hospital. A 51-year-old man arrested and charged with fail to leave, indecent act in public and being intoxicated in public.

July 25, 8 p.m. — Speedvale Avenue E. and Riverview Drive — Report of a male masturbating. Police patrolled and canvassed the area and the walking trails in Riverside Park. The male was not located. He is described as white with tanned skin, short dark brown hair, 20 to 35 years old wearing a burgundy hoodie and black shorts.

July 25, 1:30 a.m. — Eramosa Road and Queen Street — Report of a male masturbating. Male is described as approximately 35 years old, with dark hair, wearing a hat and dark clothing. The male had a bicycle with him.

July 21, 11:54 a.m. — Ptarmigan Drive — Report of male masturbating. Man is described as 50 to 60 years old with a thin build, wearing sunglasses, cotton pants and a long sleeve shirt.

July 19, 7:05 p.m. — Wyndham Street and Carden Street — Report of a man masturbating in the lobby of a building. The man was also in the Queen Street Mall and was located at 8:24 p.m. in the Sleeman Centre. A 24-year-old Guelph male was arrested for Indecent Act as well breaching his Probation Order. 

July 13, 6:02 a.m. — Douglas Street — Report of a man exposing himself. A 27-year-old Guelph man was charged with an indecent act.

July 14, 4:02 p.m. — Marilyn Drive and Woodlawn Road — Report of a man exposing himself. Man is described as 50 to 60 years old with a grey moustache, wearing a baseball cap and blue shorts.

July 10, 8:40 a.m. — Eramosa Road and Delhi Street — Report of a man exposing himself. Man is described as white, approximately 50 years old with long blondish hair. The male was described wearing a dark coloured zip hoodie and possibly a hat and jeans.  The male was pushing a bicycle.

July 6, 12:30 p.m. — John Gamble Park on Kortright Road West — Report of a man masturbating behind a woman walking on a trail. Man is described as white, approximately 55 years old, 5'9" to 5'10" tall with a lean build and facial scruff.  He was wearing a blue baseball hat, blue dry fit shirt, khaki pants and tan hiking boots. The male also had sunglasses on.

July 6, 8 p.m. — Howitt Park — Report of a man masturbating. 15-year-old youth arrested.

July 5, 10:35 a.m. — Conroy Crescent — Report of a break and enter and the male suspect "began masturbating in the bathroom. When noticed by a cleaner, the male left on foot." Man is described as white, 26 to 28 years old, 5'6" tall with a heavy build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black cotton T-shirt and jeans.

July 4, 7:55 a.m. — Herb Markle Park — Report of man masturbating on a bench. The male is described as white, in his 30s to 40s wearing all grey sweats.

July 2, 5:23 a.m. — Fountain located on Wyndham Street North and Quebec Street — Report of a man bathing in the fountain. Man cautioned by police. Police returned at 8:20 a.m. to find the man in the fountain completely naked. He stood up and exposed himself. He was again cautioned. Police then received multiple reports of the male displaying threatening behaviour, screaming and yelling at citizens. As a result, a 44-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with Indecent Act and Cause of Disturbance.

July 2, 11:17 a.m. — Norfolk Street — Report of a man masturbating in a public building. A 19-year-old Guelph man charged with indecent act.

July 1, 11:40 a.m. — Carden Street — Report of a man exposing himself. May have been accidental so police did not arrest the man.

June 16, 2:30 a.m. — Bristol Street and Surrey Street — Report of man masturbating. Man is described as white, 40 to 50 years old, approximately 5'5" to 5'10" in height, approximately 190 to 210 pounds, heavy set, short dark hair, wearing a dark coloured button up shirt and his pants were down to his knees.

April 14, 7 p.m. — Old Quebec Street mall — Report a male in a restaurant was refusing to pay the bill. Investigation revealed the incident was much more than a "dine and dash." The male suspect is alleged to have exposed himself to patrons prior to police arrival. A 28-year-old Guelph man was charged with obtain food by fraud, indecent act and two counts of breaching his probation order.

March 23, 9:40 a.m. — Wyndham Street North and Quebec Street — Police responded to a disturbance call.  When police attempted to apprehend the female, it is alleged she became combative with officers. Elements of the investigation prevented the female from being charged immediately. On March 30, a 35-year-old Guelph woman was arrested and charged with indecent exhibition, mischief under $5000, three counts of assaulting a police officer, attempt to disarm police officer and breaching her probation order.
