A young girl is in hospital after being attacked by three dogs at a private residence in Kitchener, police say.

A young girl is in a Hamilton hospital after she was attacked by three dogs at a private residence in Kitchener, police say.

Police and paramedics were called to the area of Hillview Street and Lancaster Street W. Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.

The girl was taken to Grand River Hospital, then transferred to a Hamilton hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"This incident occurred at a private residence and is currently being investigated by the Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford Perth," police said.
