Police say the man is "alive and well" and thanked members of the public for their assistance.

The man had last been seen Monday morning on foot near Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South, police say. He has been known to walk on trails through University Village Park toward Ironwood Road, Kortright Road and Stone Road Mall.

Police have not said how he ended up in a city that is about 85 km distant overland, or 120 km to drive.
