BlackBerry sells U.S. headquarters in Texas

BlackBerry has confirmed it has sold its 460,000-square foot office campus in Irving, Texas. The company says it will continue to be a tenant of the buildings.

Company purchased buildings in 2009

BlackBerry is selling its U.S. headquarters in Irving, Texas less than two months after divesting itself of more than 2 million square feet of commercial real estate in Waterloo Region.

“We can confirm that Brookfield Property Group has purchased BlackBerry’s Irving, Texas campus property,” BlackBerry said in a statement.

“BlackBerry will continue to be a tenant on the campus."

The company bought the buildings, accounting for some 460,000 square feet, in 2009.

The move comes after BlackBerry announced it would be selling 15 office buildings in Waterloo Region.
