The company manufactures interlocking paving stones used in driveways and other landscaping features. The new plant will be dedicated to manufacturing one of Unilock's product lines.

Jeff Leal, the Minister Responsible for Small Business, said in a news release that the provincial investment helps Unilock become more competitive and create jobs in the community.

"Supporting innovative manufacturers is a key focus of our government, and the southwestern Ontario Development Fund is just one of the ways we are helping businesses succeed and grow," said Leal.

Ontario continues to accept applications from qualified businesses for the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund. The fund covers up to 15 per cent of project costs.

  • An earlier version of the story said the total cost of the project is over $27 million, but it is in fact over $40 million.
