Concerts galore in Waterloo Region this weekend

Michael Gabriel is playing a concert this weekend, accompanied by a string trio, a pianist, as well as Cambridge Glee and the Huron Heights SS Sopranos. Plus flamenco guitarist Juneyt is opening, so this is a fantastic concert to check out this weekend.
Opera Laurier - Gianni Schicchi and L’Enfant et les Sortilèges

Students from Laurier's vocal program will be performing two one-act operas this weekend: Puccini's Gianni Schicci and Ravel's L'Enfant et les Sortilèges. Gianni Schicci is about a family scheming to change the will of a dying patriarch, while L'Enfant is about a boy left alone by busy parents who takes his frustrations out on pets and inanimate objects that come to life to teach him lesson. Night/Shift presents Killing Art

Catch the Kitchener inaugural screening of Killing Art, a film about two strangers connecting at the 2014 Night/Shift festival, one of whom is trying to hide a dead body. There will be four other films from the 12 Angry Filmmakers collective, music from Dark Bird and beer from Block Three.
Kinderconcert Series: The Three Musical Pigs and the Wolf

This Saturday morning concert features the Licorice Allsorts Clarinet Quartet from the K-W Symphony, and focuses on three musical pigs: Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.
WT Townshend PS Community Fun Fair & Silent Auction
11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28
WT Townshend Public School, 245 Activa Ave., Kitchener
This community fun fair has a lot to offer the entire family. There's a photo booth, speakers with sessions on digital literacy and financial literacy, FREE CHILD CARE, face painting, science displays, carnival games and a silent auction with some sweet stuff to bid on, like a week at Muskoka Cottage.
