Two people living at the Greenwood Court long-term care home in Stratford have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Huron Perth Public Health.

The two cases were confirmed within the last two days, the public health unit says. Both are in isolation and the care home is following up with their close contacts.

In total, there have been three confirmed COVID-19 cases at long-term care homes in Huron and Perth. Over the weekend, public health says it received confirmation of a first case at the Hillside Manor near Sebringville.

All three individuals are "experiencing symptoms" but are not in hospital, public health says.

Miriam Klassen, medical officer of health for Huron Perth, says the confirmed cases are concerning.

"Unfortunately, we expect to see more COVID-19 cases in long-term care homes in Perth and Huron Counties in the coming weeks as more test results come in," said Klassen in a news release.

So far, at least 30 deaths of residents in Ontario nursing and retirement homes have been linked to COVID-19, according to information gathered by CBC News.
