Kamloops starts first youth homeless count

It's nice to imagine there are no homeless teens living in Kamloops, but that's just not true. Today, volunteers will go out and start counting homeless youth for the first time.

How many homeless teenagers do you think live in Kamloops?

The fact is - no one really knows.

That's why, startingon Oct. 13, 2016,  Kamloops will kick off a youth homelessness count.

More than 40 local organizations are taking part.

The focus on kids as young as 13 makes this different from the homelessness count that happens every year.
