HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS (2000, comedy)
Sunday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC TV
Based on the classic holiday tale by Dr. Seuss, The Grinch (Jim Carrey) is on a mission to ruin Christmas for the citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his dog, Max, the Grinch sneaks into town to swipe every last present and festive bobble from the Whos. But when he befriends the sweet Cindy Lou Who, will the Grinch learn the true meaning of Christmas and reunite with his old flame Martha-May? (Christine Baranski). 

WHITE CHRISTMAS (1954, musical)
Friday, Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m. (8 NT) and Saturday, Dec. 25 at 12:30 a.m. (1 NT) on CBC TV 
Successful song-and-dance duo Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join sister act Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen) to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont. They learn their old commander, who owns the Inn, has financial problems and might have to close down. The talented foursome decide to put on a musical extravaganza to raise the money and help their old friend. 

KNIVES OUT
Sunday, Dec. 26 at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT) on CBC TV 
Join the investigation in the Canadian broadcast premiere of whodunnit Knives Out, featuring an all-star cast including Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The circumstances surrounding the death of crime novelist Harlan Thrombey are mysterious. Still, there's one thing that renowned Detective Benoit Blanc knows for sure -- everyone in the wildly dysfunctional Thrombey family is a suspect.

CANADA'S NEW YEAR'S EVE: COUNTDOWN TO 2022
Friday, Dec. 31 at 11 p.m. on CBC TV and CBC Gem
Ring in the New Year with comedy icon Rick Mercer for a truly Canadian New Year's Eve countdown featuring musical performances and fireworks displays from celebrations all across Canada.
