Harcourt cleared of any Bingogate wrongdoing
Former B.C. Premier Mike Harcourt says he's pleased -- but not surprised -- to be cleared of any wrongdoing in the Bingogate scandal.
A special prosecutor says Harcourt didn't need to resign over the scandal.
He says investigators found Harcourt did nothing wrong, and in fact it was Harcourt who initiated the inquiry into the scandal in the first place.
Harcourt says he was always confident he would be vindicated. But the former premier says he doesn't regret resigning.
Harcourt insists he quit for the benefit of the party, to take the focus off the scandal before the last election.
