Dry, bright and warm, the weather in Hamilton this weekend was great for cactuses and summer festivals alike.

Appropriately, thousands of fun-seekers soaked up the sun at the 38th annual Cactus Festival in downtown Dundas.

Running from Friday to Sunday, the festival featured spine-tingling midway rides, musical acts, games for children and, of course, lots of succulent food.

(There were a few prickly plant sightings, too.)
