Transport truck driver charged with drinking then driving the wrong way on Highway 403

Provincial police received several calls about a truck heading east in the west bound lanes of the highway near Brant Road 25 around 7:03 p.m. Sunday.

A tractor trailer driver has been charged with impaired driving, police say, after he was spotted driving the wrong way on Highway 403.

Provincial police received several calls about a truck heading east in the west bound lanes of the highway near Brant Road 25 around 7:03 p.m. Sunday.

Officers pulled the truck over and "detected signs of impairment by alcohol" while speaking with the driver.

"OPP would like to thank all of the concerned citizens who called in to report the very dangerous condition," the service stated in a media release.
