2 men charged with 'violent' sexual assault in Burlington: police

Halton Region police say they've arrested two men who allegedly used a noxious substance on a woman before "violently" sexually assaulting her.

Halton Region police say they've arrested two men who allegedly used a noxious substance on a woman before "violently" sexually assaulting her.

The investigation began after police say a woman visited a business on Harvester Road in Burlington in late August.

One of the accused men became friends with the woman on Facebook using an account with the name "Sharifulla Mokbel," according to police. The other was also active online using the name "Pena R-One" on Facebook and "pena619" on Instagram.

Both men were arrested on September 4. 

A 27-year-old North York man is charged with sex assault causing bodily harm, administering a noxious substance, gang sexual assault and sexual assault.

A 27-year-old Toronto man is charged with gang sexual assault and sexual assault.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Police say they believe there could be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
