Man dies after being struck by tractor trailer on Linc; SIU investigating
A 36-year-old man died Friday night after being struck by a tractor trailer on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway.
Hamilton police were called around 8:40 p.m. about a man in distress on the westbound Linc at the ramp to Highway 403.
Police responded. Shortly afterward, the man was struck by a westbound tractor trailer. He was killed.
The province's Special Investigations Unit is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The SIU is an arm's-length agency that investigates any interactions between the public and police that result in death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
The SIU's investigation includes one subject officer and two witness officers.
