Police searching for suspect after 14-year-old sexually assaulted in Gage Park

Hamilton police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect after a sexual assault in Gage Park.

Hamilton police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect after a sexual assault in Gage Park.

They say a man approached a 14-year-old boy near the main water fountain at the park on July 1 at about 6 p.m.

The teen and the man had a brief conversation, police say, before the man slapped the boy's buttocks.

Police say they've been investigating since the initial report but are now asking for the public's help.

They describe the suspect as a 5'8" tanned, white man between 30 and 40-years-old.

He has a heavy build, short brown hair and was travelling on a mountain bike with the seat raised to handlebar height.

The man was wearing a light blue plaid shirt and beige cargo shorts.
