Firefighters carried out a rope rescue to bring injured visitor out of the gorge

A 27-year-old was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition after falling roughly 30 metres at Albion Falls on Saturday, according to Hamilton Paramedic Service.
Emergency crews were called to the area after reports someone had fallen to the bottom of the gorge below a viewing platform, said assistant deputy chief Carla MacDonald of the Hamilton Fire Department.
Firefighters carried out a "full rope rescue," she added, which brought the patient back to the top where they were transferred over to paramedics and then transported hospital.
