Lanes reopen after fiery crash snarls QEW Thursday
3 vehicle collision shut down Toronto-bound QEW at Fruitland Road
Photos of bright orange flames and melted, charred vehicles spread across social media following a three-vehicle collision that closed a portion of the QEW on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency responders were called to the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW near Fruitland Road at around 4 p.m.

Fire spokesperson Claudio Mostacci said when crews arrived, a pickup truck and two transport trucks were totally engulfed in flames.
The occupants had exited the vehicles before fire crews arrived, he said. He was unable to comment on the extent of injuries suffered.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt with the OPP said only minor injuries resulted from the crash.
The Toronto-bound lanes were closed for several hours, and Niagara-bound lanes were closed as fire crews extinguished the blaze.
