Ship radiators and 1,800 kg of lead stolen from shipping container in Port Dover: OPP

The suspects broke into a shipping container over two nights and made off with $5,000-worth of items, say police.

Provincial police are asking the public for help identifying suspects who investigators say stole ship radiators and lead from a container in Port Dover. (OPP)

Provincial police in Port Dover are searching for a group of suspects who, they say, stole several large ship radiators and more than 1,800 kg of lead.

Officers were called to a shipping yard on Chapman Road East Friday around 1:25 p.m. 

Investigators determined that during the early morning hours people had forced entry into a shipping container and removed the radiators, according to Const. Ed Sanchuk.

Police also determined suspects had also taken the heavy lead from the property the night before — the items taken during both thefts are valued at $5,000.

The total value of items taken during both threats is estimated at $5,000. (OPP)

Surveillance images of the suspects have been released and the OPP is asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact them by calling 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
