Husband smothered wife in Waterdown home, police say
No cause of death determined for husband
Autopsies performed on a Waterdown couple who were found dead inside their home Friday have revealed that the woman died from being smothered.
Police have identified her as 55-year-old Lori Constable. Police also released the name of her husband, Wayne Constable, who was also found dead in the home.
"I reasonably believe Wayne Constable is responsible for taking Lori's life," said Det. Sgt. Joe Stewart of Hamilton police.
The immediate cause of Wayne Constable's death wasn't determined. Officials are now waiting on toxicology reports.
Detectives aren't looking at any further suspects in relation to Lori Constable's death, police say.
Officers forced their way inside the couple's home last Friday, after concerned family members said they couldn't contact them.
The entire ordeal has taken a toll on the couple's family, Stewart said. "It's very difficult," he said. "It's a very sad incident."
The police homicide unit continues to investigate Lori Constable's death, while her husband's death is being handled by the coroner's office as a coroner's case.
