Investigations continue as police look for any new information on May 17th shooting

Continuing their investigation of the May 17th shooting at Main Street East and East Avenue, police have released enhanced photos of suspects and witnesses.

The photos, captured from a citizen's dashcam video, focus on four people, two involved in the shooting and two running away from the scene. Police did not identify the shooters or witnesses.

Police are looking for the identities of the men engaged in the shooting, said Const. Steve Welton. But they're also looking for the identities of those captured on video moving through the area, or any other witnesses or information that can assist investigators.

Investigations found a vehicle at the scene that was damaged as a result of the shooting. It is being processed by forensic investigators, said Welton. Police have asked drivers in the area that day to look for bullet holes in their vehicles.

The incident capped off a violent week in the area that saw two shootings and a man who was killed near an elementary school. Welton said there is no information at this time that indicates any link between the incidents.

Police have yet to rule out this incident being gang related, but have no information to confirm gang activity at this time.

Those citizens with any information on the shooting are asked to contact Detective David Tsuchida or Detective Fab Giulliani at 905-546-3818. Anyone with information wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers Hamilton at 1-800-222-8477.
