The Ontario Fire Marshall was called in to investigate a fire that broke out in Hamilton early Wednesday.

The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate a fire that broke out in Hamilton early Wednesday.

Fire crews were called to Queen Elizabeth Towers on Queen Street North around 2 a.m. to investigate a fire on the ninth floor.

The fire was contained to one unit, said fire official Dave Christopher. No one was injured.

A number of tenants in the building were evacuated because of smoke. Some tenants stayed in two HSR buses.

Hamilton police have deemed the fire suspicious, but Christopher said the Fire Marshall has just been called in because they are unsure of the cause of the blaze at this time.
