Every day, musicians write, record and release new music in Ontario — so each week, we're bringing you some of our favourites.

Music columnist Adam Carter is on CBC Radio One's In the Key of C and Big City Small World on Saturdays, with your guide to what's new and exciting in Ontario music.

Here are this week's picks:

Adrian Underhill: Cruel

After years in rock bands and dabbling in lo-fi experimentation, Adrian Underhill has found his niche with a funky, R&B-infused sound.

This track is from his new album CU Again, which drops later this year.

"It comes from a place of honestly trying to listen and hear other people's experience of the world — particularly those whose voices are often silenced and shut down," Underhill says. "I think those are the voices we need to be listening to and raising up right now."

Terra Lightfoot: Paradise

Terra Lightfoot is back with a new song called Paradise. This is from her upcoming album New Mistakes.

There's a little bit more rock in Terra's roots rock sound on this track.

The 8-bit synth is a departure, too — and this chorus will be lodged in your head right after the first listen.

Delon Om: Americana Nights

Delon Om's Americana Nights could seamlessly slide onto modern pop radio.

The production and vocal performances on this track are top notch.

GTHA listeners can catch Adam on Big City Small World on Saturdays at 5 p.m. ET, on 99.1 FM. Listeners across the rest of the province can hear him on In the Key of C at 5 p.m.
