People threaten bar with weapons and invade Hamilton home: police

Hamilton police are investigating after a group of people threatened patrons and employees in a sports bar. They say the suspects joined up with a fourth person to invade a home.

Hamilton police are investigating after a group of men reportedly threatened patrons in a sports bar and invaded a nearby home. 

On Friday at 6 p.m., police say three men entered Cooler's Sports Bar at Upper Gage Avenue and Fennell Avenue East.

Police say that two of the people carried a baseball bat and "incendiary device," and began threatening patrons and employees inside.

Nobody was injured.  

According to police, the suspects then left the bar and met up with a fourth person before invading a neighbouring home. They assaulted two people, who sustained minor injuries.

Police say that the victims were targeted. 

Police describe the suspects as: 

  • A man around five feet, ten inches tall, skinny build with short dark hair and wearing a grey sweater.

  • A man with dirty blond hair and wearing a black sweater.

  • A man, five feet, ten inches, stocky build, bald with a dirty blond goatee and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey sweat pants.

  • A man with a tanned complexion, wearing a shirt partially draped around his head and neck, with tattoos on his arms and chest.

Police are asking witnesses and anyone with information to contact the criminal investigations branch or Crime Stoppers.
