34-year-old Hamilton man, Michael Gallo, stabbed to death Thursday night
Gallo died after being stabbed near Main Street West and Haddon Street Thursday night
A man who died after being stabbed Thursday night has been identified as 34-year-old Michael Gallo, police say.
Gallo is the city's 13th homicide victim for the year and the second this week.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Main Street West and Haddon Street just after 8:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Hamilton Police and Hamilton Paramedics arrived to find Gallo suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital but later died.
Police looking for suspect
As police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to Gallo's death, they say investigators would like to speak with a male who was in the immediate area at the time of the incident.
He is described as 5'9'', slender, wearing a black and grey hoodie with dark pants. He was also wearing a blue surgical mask.
Police will be in the area for the remainder of the day canvassing for witnesses and video. Anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance in the area around the time of the incident is encouraged to call 905-546-3874 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-847.

Last Sunday night a 60-year-old man died following a stabbing outside a Cannon Street convenience store.
A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with that incident and will face a charge of second-degree murder, according to Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk.
