Resident wakes to find bullet holes in parked car

Hamilton police say they believe a car found with bullet holes was a result of targeted shooting early Tuesday morning on Elgar Avenue.

Hamilton police are investigating what they describe as a "targeted" shooting after a car was found with bullet holes Tuesday morning. 

Police say a resident reported hearing a series of loud bangs around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning on Elgar Avenue, in the area of Limeridge Road West and Garth Street. 

A resident living on Elgar Avenue woke up to find that their car had bullet holes in it, police said. 

Police say there isn't a threat to public safety. 

They are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
