Police in Niagara Region say a 73-year-old doctor is facing sexual assault charges in separate incidents that involved a 16-year-old girl and a 39-year-old woman.

They say the man was arrested in Pelham, Ont., on Tuesday, about two months after police began their investigation.

Investigators say the man was practising as a family doctor at the time of the alleged sexual assaults.

He is facing three counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation.

Police say the man will attend a bail hearing on Nov. 6.

Investigators say they have reason to believe there may be more alleged victims and are asking anyone with information to reach out.
