Hamilton man arrested for alleged door-to-door donation scam
A Hamilton man is facing fraud charges after allegedly running a fake door-to-door donation scam in Burlington.
Halton police say they received complaints about a "suspicious person" visiting homes and asking for money in the Headon Forest area.
Police allege he was representing himself as member of a "local place of worship," but did not specify which, exactly.
In a news release, Halton police said that after an "extensive search and [with] the assistance of local residents," a 25-year-old Hamilton man was arrested.
He is now facing various fraud and trespassing charges.
