Charges upgraded for accused in Dundas shooting that left man wounded

Police have upgraded charges for two Hamilton men following a Dundas shooting that left a 22-year-old with a gunshot wound.

Police have upgraded charges for two Hamilton men following a Dundas shooting that left a 22-year-old with a gunshot wound.

Emergency crews were called to York and Old Guelph roads around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 25 after 911 calls about a shooting in the area.

The wounded victim was transported to the hospital and has since been released, according to police.

Two Hamilton men who were seen running from the area were arrested.

Police previously said the accused men and the victim knew each other and investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

The men were taken into custody and charged at the time, but police announced on Friday that those charges had since been upgraded.

A 31-year-old is now charged with attempt to cause death with a firearm, aggravated assault causing a wound and assault with a weapon, along with other firearm-related charges, said police.

A 32-year-old is now charged with aggravated assault causing a wound, assault with a weapon, being the occupant of a vehicle with a weapon and discharging a firearm with intent to wound, investigators said.

Police said they are not searching for any more suspects.
