Halton police investigating suspicious fire at Burlington home

The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating a suspicious fire at a Burlington home.

Residence was vacant at time of fire, no physical injuries reported

The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating a suspicious fire at a Burlington home.

Police responded to a fire at a residence on Maple Avenue in Burlington around 9 a.m. on Monday. On arrival, emergency crews found the second floor of the building fully-engulfed in flames. 

Police said the home was vacant at the time of the fire, and no physical injuries were reported.

"Burlington Fire was able to extinguish the fire, however investigators have deemed this fire to be suspicious," police said in a news release. 

Investigators are now working with the Office of the Fire Marshal.

Anyone with information or with dashcam footage in the area of Maple Avenue and Hammond Street between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on the evening of July 26 is asked to contact police.
