A 67-year-old Hamilton man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on Binbrook Road.

The man was in a car heading eastbound just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, police say. Meanwhile, a 32-year-old Hamilton man was heading westbound in a truck.

The driver of the car "lost control and entered the truck's lane before it collided" with the truck, police said in a media release.

Emergency crews took the 67-year-old man to hospital, where he died. They assessed the 32-year-old man on scene.

Speed and alcohol weren't factors, police say. Road and weather conditions may have been a factor, but police are investigating others. There will be a postmortem Wednesday morning.

This is the fifth driver death in Hamilton in 2017.

Any witnesses who haven't spoken to police should call Det. Const. Matt Hewko of the collision reconstruction unit at 905-546-4755.
