Police investigating after 2 people injured in assault
Drugs and firearms found inside home, but no suspects
Police are investigating an assault that they say left two people injured.
Officers were called to a home near the corner of King Street East and Gage Avenue South around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a disturbance. They cordoned off the area, blocking King from Gage to East Bend Avenue South.
Investigators say the assault happened inside the home and that a firearm was present.
Police remained at the scene throughout the night while detectives worked to secure a search warrant. A warrant was granted around 7 a.m. and tactical officers entered the home, only to find no suspects inside.
Officers did find firearms and drugs as well as evidence of the alleged assault, according to a press release.
Criminal charges are expected.
Police say two victims were injured in the assault but did not require medical attention and are expected to recover.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are planning to interview people throughout the day and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
