The Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS) launched an animal cruelty investigation Monday into complaints that several dogs were being abused and neglected in a Niagara Falls home.

The receipt of multiple videos allegedly filmed at a home on Dogwood Crescent prompted LCHS to call for the investigation, according to a media release. The abuse complaint involved a number of German shepherd dogs and puppies.

Local bylaw officers attended the address in question, and investigators contacted the dog owners. A veterinarian, under the direction of the LCHS, treated one of the dogs.

Investigators are looking into other alleged abuse in the videos. The dogs were transferred to a local animal control facility for adoption, which was done outside of the official investigation.
