University of Alberta group shaving heads for cancer
The university's Engineering Students' Society put on its 13th annual event
There's going to be a bigger need for toques at the University of Alberta.
The 13th annual Engineering Headshave buzzed and dyed the hair of many university students today.
Participants had their hair dyed and then shaved off to raise money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
The buzz cuts and hair dyes are organized by the Engineering Students Society, who have been shaving heads on campus since 2004. In that time, they've raised more than $400,000.
