Stanley Milner library closing for renovations at end of December
Library moving to temporary location in Enterprise Square
The Stanley Milner Library in downtown Edmonton will close for renovations at the end of December.
The library will operate in a temporary location in Enterprise Square until the $62.5-million renovation is complete in 2020.
Sections of the library will close in phases during November and December.
The second floor will close on Nov. 7. On Nov. 28, administration will move to the MNP Tower at 102nd Avenue and 101st Street.
On Dec. 5, the children's library and Makerspace will close. One week later, the first floor will close, with limited services such as public computers, holds pickup and outreach workers moving into the space that formerly housed the children's library.
The entire library closes Dec. 31 and will reopen in the Enterprise Square location on Jan. 3.
The Milner Library was built in 1967. The renovations will modernize its exterior and interior.
