Participants in a two-day Japanese sword forging course at NAIT will have the rare opportunity to learn from the only native-born Japanese swordsmith to ever teach students outside of Japan.
Taro Asano, a master swordsmith, will create a Japanese sword blade using a traditional coal-fired forge. He will be working with raw, handmade steel and traditional tools, at temperatures that reach more than 1,300 degrees Celsius.
