Police identify suspect in Friday's fatal hit-and-run
Jonathan Jake Cardinal, 31, is wanted on multiple Canada-wide warrants.
Edmonton police have identified the suspect wanted in the hit-and-run involving a stolen pickup truck that left a father of two dead on Friday.
Adam Groves, 33, died trying to stop a thief from stealing his blue 2006 Dodge Ram truck outside his Rundle Park home.
Jonathan Jake Cardinal, 31, is wanted on Canada-wide arrests for manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and theft over $5,000.
Cardinal is described as approximately five-foot-ten, weighing 180-pounds, with a medium build and medium length brown or black hair.
Police believe Cardinal is in Edmonton but warn that he should not be approached as he is considered to be a danger to the public.
On Monday, Groves’ sister-in-law Desire Poulin described him as an incredible caring and loving father and husband, well-respected by friends and the community and possessing an infectious smile.
“We’re hurting,” Poulin said Monday. “We need justice for Adam.”
